Valentines

Dear Post office,

I am 100% certain that this Valentine was received damaged. There is no possibility, maybes, or buts. But the Valentine inside warmed our little hearts so much, that there wasn't a better place for the crumpled and torn Valentine than on our fridge.

After hearing about everyone else recieving a lovely Valentine from Lydia, Steve and I were a bit sad. Until ours arrived in the mail a few weeks late. I do not think I have ever seen such a funny piece of mail in my life. Do you see the piece of tape across the front. I am supprised that it was able to hold it together for the rest of its journey. HAHA!

It was the cute Valentine. Loved it! Steve and I received another Valentine from our nephews Clyde and Will. Definitely equal in cuteness. Thank you!

I'm not going to lie.... I was very excited for Valentines day.

Here is the story. Unless you count my elementary school crush and the fact he gave me a little cut out valentine that said something beyond "You're cool" or "friend", then Steve was my first Valentine. Of course most boys Mom's in elementary school fill out their Valentines for them.....so he probably didn't even know that he sent me a secret luuuuuv message.

February of last year Steve and I had been on two or three dates. Valentines day came around and we were enamored. Steve offered to spend the the big V-day Saturday with me. It was snowing all day long. The big soft and wet snow flakes. Very romantic! Plus Steve had a broken leg, so we had to spend the whole day indoors. We put a roast in the crockpot and went over to the children's library. In the back of the library there were big comfy couches with lots of children running around. We both grabbed our favorite children's books and read them to each other all afternoon. Steve of course picked a book that labeled all the different dog breeds. I read all of the childrens books that my grandmother has written. Steve was at frist suprised that I had a few of them memorized.... until I explained the whole my grandma is the author deal. In the middle of reading a book. Steve just reached up and grabbed my hand from reading the book. That's right. No awkward hand sliding business. He liked me and just went for it. It was a lovely Valentine's day.... officially he wasn't my Valentine yet. But..... he would be

This year, Steve played the part of Mr. Valentine oh so well. I'm so grateful! I came home from school and Steve had hidden Valentines presents all through out the apartment. He was so excited and impatient that he couldn't wait for me to stumble upon them unbeknownst, so he pretty much spilled the beans on all of them. See the heart shaped box........ Filled with chocolate covered cinnamon bears...... my favorite. Oh it is lovely to have a Valentine. I could say all sorts of mushy lovey things right now. But to save you I will just stick with how much I love candy.

At least cute Lydia had a good excuse as to why her Valentine arrived late . . . Clyde and Will just have a procrastination-prone mom :).

I'm SO glad you had a Valentine to spend the holiday with this year!
